General Conditions
The buyer agrees to provide adequate care, housing, training and nutrition for this pup. This puppy is not intended to be bred, unless it is determined to be upgraded to breed quality and all of the breeder’s requirements are met.
This pup will not be sold or leased to a pet shop, animal shelter, research laboratory and if the buyer can longer care for this pet they will immediately contact Surefoot Shepherds.
Training
This pup will not be left alone unattended for long periods of time and should be considered a family member. This pup requires daily exercise and should have safe dog toys for chewing on and training. This pup should not be left unsupervised outdoors unless it has a proper containment area (fenced yard, dog run) and will NEVER be chained up.
Surefoot Shepherds evaluates each litter as to temperament and health. You have received a pup that has been tested to fit the conditions of your household; however, temperament can change through environment. Therefore, Surefoot Shepherds strongly recommends that you should enroll your pup in an obedience training course and that this pup is allowed frequent interaction with in its environment.
Health Care
This pup was examined by a certified veterinarian at 6-8 weeks of age and found to be free of any health issues. However, if this puppy shall become injured in anyway after it has left Surefoot Shepherds, Seller will not warranty nor guarantee for accidents or injuries. Further, the buyer agrees to have this pup checked by a veterinarian within one week to have the health guarantee to be warranted. This pup should not be introduced to other animals until all of the puppy shots have been finished. This pup shall be spayed/neutered when it is between the ages of 6 months to 24 months. (This pup will not be bred unless deemed upgradable after genetic health testing results). A copy of the spay/neuter certificate will be forwarded to breeder.
Nutrition & Supplements
This pup shall be fed food that your veterinarian recommends for maximum health and growth. Feel free to contact Surefoot Shepherds if you have any questions about nutrition as well.
Registration
Seller will complete necessary registration forms with the registry selected by Surefoot Shepherds. Please note that registering an adult involves hip x-rays as well as extensive health testing shall you decide to upgrade to breed/show quality.
Miscellaneous
Surefoot Shepherds will be notified of address, phone, and or e-mail changes of buyer.
Regular picture updates of the pup should be sent to breeder for progeny updates.
Breeder’s Guarantee
Surefoot Shepherds guarantees this puppy against genetic disease such as hip dysplasia or other genetic defects that may appear by 24 months of age and adversely affect the quality of this puppy’s life. Shall this pup present with a genetic disease, Surefoot Shepherds will replace this pup with one of equal or greater value from a different litter and you keep your original puppy/dog. Surefoot Shepherds is not responsible for any veterinarian care that may arise while in the care of the buyer/owner.
Buyer’s Agreement:
· shipping expenses are paid by buyer
· In case of sudden death or illness, an autopsy will be paid by buyer to determine cause of death and a copy will be sent to breeder.
· Buyer is responsible to keep seller informed as to the conditions of the pup and if any concerns arise.
· If digestive disorders develop will you be required to provide receipts and other documentation showing that this pup was fed as per vet orders or breeder recommendations?
· If pup becomes ill due to nutritional neglect, replacement of puppy is voided.
· The temperament of this pup is not under warranty. Temperament is not hard wired and is influenced by genetics and environment. At the time that this pup was placed in your home, the temperament was sound, however the temperament can be changed by the environment and how they are raised.
· Shall the buyer abuse or mistreat this pup in any manner rights and ownership of this puppy will be immediately terminated and Surefoot Shepherds will assume immediate possession at buyer’s expense.
Payment
A deposit of ______ will be paid to seller to hold puppy with a payment of _________ be due before delivery of pup. Buyer is responsible for costs of shipping and or delivery of pup.
By signing the terms of this agreement, parties indicate that they have read and discussed this agreement and approve of all terms and conditions.
